What is History of Science???

History as a science
There is a method and system about history. The historian has to approach his task with the spirit of a scientist. In the case of physical sciences, the scientist observes things, assembles facts and then interprets them. A historian like wise collects facts as they emerge during the historical and then interprets them. An historian is a scientist who studies the past scientifically. In this respect history may be regarded as the science of the past. Like the laws of physical science we have the laws of history. History is subject to the law of causation, cause and effect. All that happens in history has some cause, and it is the task of the historian to discover such cause. A law of history lies embedded in the dictum "History repeats itself."
