The Prophet of Mercy

For forty years Our Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) demonstrate his excellent character as a perfect and practically ideal man. When one day the angel, Hazrat Jibrael came to him with the first revelation from his mighty Allah. The Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) was chosen as the last prophet. So one after the other Allah sent his word and Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) spread the message with the light of faith and knowledge. He showed the people the right path, thus becoming a mercy for all the world. The Quran says:
Hazrat Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) life shows that he measured up to the highest standard of character and personality. He is reported never to have spoken in harsh word to any human-being, friend or foe. Hazrat Ans (Razi-Allah-O-Ta'ala Anho) reports, "I served the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) for ten years and in this long period he never spoke a harsh word in front of me, never scolded me and never showed displeasure at what I did.
He (Peace be upon him) never denounced me for what I had or failed to do." It is very easy to say this but we cannot find a single example of such forbearance, tolerance, patience and mercifulness. He is the best of all creation.
When the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) began preaching Islam,  Makkah turned against him. He taught that there is but one Allah. The idols worshiped by the people were nothing but pieces of wood and stone. It was wrong to call them goods and worship them. He preached to the people that they should be good, honest, kind and virtuous.
Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) suffered every cruelty of his opponents with extreme patience and never even spoke a harsh word in return. Once he was so severely hurt by the people of Taif, that blood trickled down his legs and filled his shoes. Even then he prayed, and as the Prophet (Peace be upon him) walked by she would throw the garbage on him. He (Peace be upon him) never said a harsh word to her nor did he protest against it. One day he passed by the woman's house, but no garage fell on him. The Holy Prophet  (Peace be upon him)  looked up, the old woman was not there. He Knocked and asked for permission to enter. A feeble voice answered, "Come in." He walked in and found the old woman lying in bed with high fever.
When she realized who her visitor was, the old woman was greatly terrified. She thought the Prophet would punish her for her wrong deed. Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "Fear not, I am your well-wisher."
He (Peace be upon him) swept the house clean, fetched water for the old woman and offered her a glass of water. He then gave her medicine and comfort her. She was so impressed by his kindness that she embraced Islam and became a good Muslim.

Once Abu Jehl found the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) praying in the Holy Ka'aba. Finding the Prophet (Peace be upon him) alone, he decided to end his life. Hazrat Abu Bakr (Razi-Allah-O-Ta'ala Anho) came on the scene and he pushed away the enemy of Allah. He (Razi-Allah-O-Ta'ala Anho) said angrily. "Do you want to kill and a man who only asks you to leave your evil ways and who is good to orphans, widows, the poor and the needy."
Abu Jehl slunk away in silence, but the Prophet of Mercy (Peace be upon him) did not utter a hard word. He with his as it nothing had happened.
